Rev. Bruce Morrison  (Senior Minister)

In a former life Bruce worked in finance for Qantas. He committed his life to Jesus while studying economics at the University of NSW. Bruce loves to walk and canyon in the Blue Mountains where he grew up or to scuba dive with his wife Michele. Together they have three adult children and two grandchildren. Apart from responsbilities for directing the parish and staff, Bruce pastors the 8am and 11am congregations and has oversight of the children's ministries.

Rev. Tom Harricks (Senior Associate Minister)

Tom worked as a marketer in the IT and telco industry before entering Moore College for ministry training. He has been on staff at St John's in a full time capacity since early 2008. Tom has pastoral responsibility for the 9:30 am and 7:00 pm congregations. Tom is married to Jenny. They have three young children. Tom values sleep (because his children don't).

Lisa worked as a registered nurse for eight years, primarily in the cancer ward of a large Sydney children's hospital. She joined the staff of St John's in 2010 having completed a four year Bachelor of Divinity degree at Moore College. Her focus is on ministry to women and she is passionate about cross-cultural ministry. She loves mangoes, road trips and playing with her nieces and nephews.

David worked as a pharmacist in a community pharmacy before entering Moore College in 2003 for ministry training. He has been on staff at St John's in a full-time capacity since 2007 and has pastoral responsibility for our youth. He is married to Jenny and has three young children. David loves making music (David plays drums, piano and guitar - but not at the same time).

 

 

Dr. Michael Safari (Persian Minister)

Michael is originally from Iran and has a PhD in Linguistics. He and his wife Ulrike were missionaries with Operation Mobilisation before coming to St John’s in 2004. The Safari’s have two boys and minister to the Persian congregation in the Farsi language. Michael is passionate about evangelism and can be found most Thursdays in the Parramatta City Mall area doing just that. He is also passionate about soccer.

 

 

Rev. Ken Tang (Chinese Minister)Ken-Tang.jpg

Ken is originally from Hong Kong. He qualified as a CPA and worked with Panasonic before deciding to go into full time ministry. He joined the staff at St John's in 2004. Ken has responsibility for St John's ministry to Chinese language-speaking congregations and pastoral responsibility for the Cantonese-speaking congregation. Ken is married to Joyce and together they enjoy travel to different parts of the world. Ken is passionate about discipleship training and would like to train more Christians to be mature in Christ.

 

Rev. Jonathan Chen (Assistant Chinese Minister)JonathanChen.jpg

Jonathan has a Masters of Accounting degree but having turned to Christ in 2004, he decided to train for the ministry and completed his study at Moore Theological College in 2010. He and his wife Renee come from north-east China and they enjoy working with the Mandarin-speaking congregations. Jonathan and Renee have a young son who keeps them very busy. 


Ministry Support Team

Valerian (Val) D'Lima (Cathedral Verger)

Val joined the staff of St John's in a full-time capacity in 2006. He is responsible for the day-to-day presentation of the cathedral and hall complex. Val, who came to Australia from Pakistan, is married to Dora and they have three adult children. Val is passionate about  family weekends away with a bit of fishing thrown in.

  

Maryanne Golding (General Manager, Admin & Property) MG.jpg

Maryanne has a PhD in audiology and was a researcher with the National Acoustic Laboratories before joining the staff at St John's in 2008. She is responsible for the management of property and other resources within the parish. Maryanne is married to Chris and is passionate about live theatre and her morning coffee (skim flat white with one sugar, if you're buying).

David Osborne (Music Director)

 David has qualifications from Trinity College (London), the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMusA) and has piano teaching accreditation with Suzuki Talent Education. He has been Cathedral Organist at St John's since 1982. He specializes in organ, choral music, keyboard and delights in teaching. David is married to Leonie and they have two adult children. David is passionate about his family, all things musical, bible study, and God's great gifts of living, people, nature and creation.

 

Jane Strickland (Accountant)

Jane is a qualified Accountant and has worked part-time at St John's since 2001. She oversees all things financial and works very closely with the wardens of the parish. Jane is married to Trevor and has two adult sons as well as two beautiful grandchildren. Jane is passionate about seeing people come to Christ and watching sunsets over Santorini.
