Our Services
We hold eight services for adults each Sunday. Our services are conducted in one of four languages (i.e., English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Farsi).
We are proud of our Evangelical Anglican heritage. All our services have a solid focus on teaching from God’s Word but the style of service varies across the spectrum from traditional to contemporary.
CANTONESE
9:15 am
A weekly meeting in Cantonese and held in the main hall, with morning tea to follow. See our sister website www.chinese.stjohnscathedral.org.au for more information. During the meeting infants and children (KFC) join with families from the 9:30 am service for their own activities. Youth from all services enjoy their own integrated program.
ENGLISH
8:00 am
A traditional Anglican prayer book service of Holy Communion held in English and in the cathedral. Members often have coffee or breakfast together after the service.
9:30 am & 11:00 am
These are contemporary meetings held in English and in the cathedral. These services are similar in many ways but have their own individual character. Stay for morning tea after the 9:30 am service or join the regular coffee crowd after the 11am service. During the meeting children (KFC at 9:30 am; Children’s Sunday School at 11:00 am) enjoy their own program. Infants are welcome in creche during the 9:30 am service and are welcome to stay in church with their parents during the 11 am service. Youth from all services enjoy their own integrated program.
7:00 pm
Our Sunday at Seven meeting, which is enriched by an extraordinary blend of ages and cultures, is particularly attractive to young workers and students. While we have a relaxed vibe in our service, we are anxious to see each other advance in our knowledge of God through Bible teaching.
FARSI
5:00 pm
Our Farsi language service is held in the main hall and has its own music and character. Stay for one of our regular dinners after the service. A program for school-age children is also offered. Contact: Michael Safari 9639 5914
MANDARIN
11:00 am & 2:00 pm
Two weekly meetings in Mandarin and held in the main hall. Lunch is held regularly between the two services. Young adults are particularly encouraged to attend the afternoon Mandarin service. See our sister website www.chinese.stjohnscathedral.org.au for more information. During the morning meeting infants and children (Children’s Sunday School at 11:00 am) meet for their own activities. Youth attending in the morning have their own integrated program.
