VISION 2016
- To be a church marked out by prayer.
- To be a church marked out by evangelism, love, welcome and hospitality. To provide effective ministry training across the congregations for personal ministry and leadership in the church and beyond.
- To provide effective ministry to the children and youth of St John’s so that they will grow to Christian maturity in understanding, love and leadership.
- To provide an effective small group ministry that includes seniors, families, men and women, welcomes the outsider and establishes genuine community and fellowship.
- To grow the English speaking congregations in the Cathedral to 700 people, the Chinese congregations to 500, the Persian Congregation to 200 and to establish and grow an International English Speaking Congregation of 150.
- To provide a 300 seat auditorium to facilitate this growth in congregations, to release the St. John’s hall for refreshments, meals and fellowship on Sundays and to provide appropriate rooms to accommodate Sunday school, teaching functions, refreshment areas, and office space.
- To maximise the impact of the Gospel in our city, seeking further opportunities to bring a Gospel perspective to the business community, civic leaders, issues and functions.
