| Being Married at St. John’s |
St. John’s Cathedral is a very popular wedding venue. The design of the building allows a wedding with 50 guests to feel intimate, and a wedding of 200 guests to be comfortably catered for.The Cathedral site is the oldest continual place of worship in Australia, with the first church building erected here in 1803. The twin towers reportedly date to 1820 but it was 1855 before the nave was opened. The building is now listed on the State Heritage register, and it has a warmth and intimacy that make it attractive for weddings. St. John’s has a special place in Parramatta and in the lives of many people and we hope it will for you also. For those interested in being married here at St John's, please come to our 7pm Sunday service in the church hall, any week, to ask questions and to complete an application form.
